Introduction

Digit ry (ry = registered association) is a student association, more specifically a guild, for information technology students studying in University of Turku. Digit was founded in Fall 1999 and the association was registered in May 2000. Digit ry is the oldest engineering guild in the University of Turku. Engineering student who studies in a university is called teekkari in Finland, so Digit is actually a teekkari guild.

We currently have over 600 members which keeps on growing in the future.

Digit is a really welcoming and community focused association and we have tight and active relations with other IT student associations all around Finland.

Board

Digit is governed by a board, which is led by the chair of the board and ten other members (vice chair, secretary, treasurer, educational affairs, event organizers, external affairs, communications, facilieties officer and freshmen affairs). In the fall's general meeting, the members of Digit elect the board for the next year. Any member of Digit may apply for the positions.

Under the board are many different commissions which help out with association’s affairs. These include, but are not limited to, event commission, media commission, guild room commission and free-time commission. Current board

Why join Digit ry?

The association’s goal is to assist and support its members with their graduate engineering studies and to offer them fun and interesting activities and events.

The association’s educational affairs person works together with IT departments staff to determine the content, quality and schedule of the education that our members receive.

Our offered free-time activities mostly include company introductions, student parties of all sorts, sitz parties, sauna evenings and all kinds of fun stuff our members come up with.

The highlights of the year for IT students in Turku are TiTeenin Taisto (The clash of the TiTens) and Teekkariwappu.
